Protein purification - Quo vadis?

05.11.2007 - 07.11.2007, Tutzing

From state-of-the-art to future challenges

5 - 7 November 2007

at the Evangelische Akademie Schloss Tutzing
Lake Starnberg

The symposium is fully booked!

During the last decade the need of proteins for therapeutic indications,
especially monoclonal antibodies has increased in an exorbitant
manner. Continuously improving large scale fermentation
technologies applying high-producer systems are associated with
dramatically increasing yields. Handling of these protein amounts
challenges the area of downstream processing to focus on the
establishment of innovative and economic techniques for protein
purification. The scope of this symposium is to discuss future
perspectives in this field and applications alternative to state of the
art methods.

Discussion topics:

  • First Steps and Alternatives
  • Accelerating Bioprocess Development
  • Inclusion Body Refolding
  • Single Use Concepts
  • Depletion of Critical Contaminants – Old Workhorses and New Concepts

The symposium is being organised by the Association of German
Biotech Companies (VBU) of the DECHEMA e.V. (Society for Chemical
Engineering and Biotechnology) and will be sponsored by Roche.
