Several awards will be handed out in a ceremony during the conference dinner of IDS2010.

Excellence in Drying Research Award recognizing individual's career achievements and contribution to drying, sponsored by the ProcessNet-Fachausschuss Trocknungstechnik (German Working Party on Drying)
Excellence in Drying Award recognizing the transfer of fundamental results to practice, sponsored by the Association Francaise de Séchage dans l'Industrie et l'Agriculture (French Working Party on Drying )
Nestlé Drying Technology Award IDS2010 for the best paper on food drying or a related topic at IDS2010. The decision on this award will be made after considering all manuscripts on food processing accepted for IDS2010, with the exception of keynote lecture manuscripts. For Nestlé drying is an essential step during food processing. Different technologies, such as spray drying, freeze drying or vacuum drying are used to deliver high quality food, like infant formula or instant coffee Nescafé. These technologies are commonly used, however there are still scientific gaps. By sponsoring the Nestlé Drying Technology Award, Nestlé would like to encourage scientists to be even more active in this field and to highlight the industrial importance.
EFCE Excellence Award in Drying 2010 This new biennial award recognizes a PHD thesis or publications of a young re-searcher or engineer, which demonstrate an outstanding contribution to research and/or practice in drying. Nominations by supervisors from an EFCE member country based on theses or papers published in the years 2007, 2008 and 2009 may be sub-mitted until March 31st 2010 (see: http://www.efce.info/ExcellenceAwardDrying.html ). The award is sponsored by the European Federation of Chemical Engineering
Criofarma Award recognizing outstanding research work in freeze drying.
Chairman´s Award for Lifetime Achievement This special award by the Chairman of the conference, sponsored by the Mars GmbH, will recognize outstanding, lifetime contributions to drying technology and to the inter-national drying community.
Arun S. Mujumdar Medal The medal was established by the students and associates of Professor Mujumdar to recognize individuals who combine at a high level research, community services and mentoring in drying.
Poster Awards (1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place) The decision about the three poster awards will be made during the conference, after reviewing all posters upon excellence in contents and presentation. These awards underline the value and significance of the poster programme for IDS 2010.
