Dresden, the capital of Saxony, is an industrial, cultural and scientific centre in the southeast of Germany, halfway between Berlin and Prague. The river Elbe and the gently rolling landscape between Saxon Switzerland and Meissen form a pleasant environment for the city and the river. Dresden has great reputation as a baroque town with nearly 800 years of history therefore it obtained the title “Florence of the North”.
The symposium will be held at the new Lecture Centre of the university, a few tram stops away from the old town.

Dresden Airport - Dresden main station
- By bus numbers 72/76 and 61, bus stop Fritz-Foerster-Platz.
- From the main station by tram number 3 (direction Coschütz), or tram number 8 (direction Südvorstadt) tram
stop Nürnberger Platz, then 5 minutes within walking distance.
Via car:
- From direction Eisenach via A 4 take the exit Dresden-Altstadt, direction Stadtzentrum (city centre).
Signs will guide you to the TU Dresden. Please note that parking space is not available at the premises
of the University.
Dresden can be reached by air via Frankfurt or Munich, but also by train or car.

For students who are participants of the ISMC 2005 we can offer a low-price accommodation at one of the Students Guest Houses of the Studentenwerk Dresden. It will be possible to book accommodation in a period from 16 to 24 July 2005. Available are double rooms for sharing in appartments up to three rooms.
The appartments have a bathroom and a kitchen with some basic dishes.

After booking the accommodation the room keys and documents will be available at the congress office of the ISMC 2005. Please do not forget to indicate the keyword "ISMC" by applying for an accommodation. Otherwhise it will not be possible to arrange the handing over of the keys.

The 8th International Conference on Calixarenes will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, from July 25 to 30, 2005.
