The closest bus
stop to the conference site is Grindelallee (“Rentzelstraße”, Bus 5 from
Dammtor train station);
the closest underground stop is station “Schlump”.
By
train:
Hamburg
is easily accessible by train and has four train stations in addition to the
main train station (Kirchenallee), those being Altona, Dammtor, Bergedorf and
Harburg. Both InterCity (IC) and InterCity Express (ICE) trains stop at all
five stations. The train station to University of Hamburg is “Dammtor”.
By
car:
If
you travel by car, Hamburg is very easy to reach. Lying centred between the
motorways A7 (North/South tangent), A1 (Bremen-Lübeck), A24 (Berlin-Hamburg)
and the A23 (from Heide).
By
plane:
The
Hamburg Airport is only eight km outside town (
www.ham.airport.de
).
Taxi:
There
are taxi ranks in front of all the terminals. A ride from the airport to the
city centre takes about 30 minutes and costs approx. EUR 20.

(Hamburg Public Transport)
Jasper-Airport-Express
is the fastest non-stop connection from
the airport into the city. Itruns every 15 min and the journey takes 25 min
(single ticket EUR 5, return ticket EUR 8).
Airport-Express busline 110
Hamburg Airport does not yet have a direct rail connection to the city centre. The nearest subway&suburban railway station, Ohlsdorf, is served by suburban rail lines S1 and S11 and the subway line U1; all of these will take you to or from the main station, Hauptbahnhof, or Jungfernstieg (city centre).
Ohlsdorf station and the Terminals are connected by the number 110 bus, the
"Airport-Express", which runs every 10 minutes.
