Just beyond Heidelberg lies the charming valley of the River Neckar. Meandering among colourful sandstone hills, the river flows past many castles and ruins, clinging to their rocky crags or commanding the wooded heights.
After a 1,5-hour boat trip from Heidelberg, we arrive at the romantic medieval town of Neckarsteinach, famous for its four castles. With its twisting narrow streets, half-timbered houses and the remains of the old town wall, Neckarsteinach is a memorable experience. After a guided tour of the old town, we travel by bus to the castle at Dilsberg perched high above the River Neckar which flows around it on three sides. This is the place to enjoy a spectacular panorama of the Neckar Valley in all its splendour. After a guided tour around the town, guests will have the opportunity to sample some of the local wine, direct from the grower. The bus will take you back to Heidelberg Convention Center.
Cost per person: ? 32.00 (incl. VAT) incl. the boat trip.
Registration is necessary, please fill in the registration form.

Enjoy this very special evening at the Kulturbrauerei Heidelberg. This complex, which was first documented in 1235, was owned by the Schaaf family who were well-known brewers in and around Heidelberg. The brewery was located in the same cellar as today and the vault of the present tasting cellar also dates back to this period. The Schaaf family ran the brewery until about 1914. For a time its history and fortune were somewhat chequered. Fortunately, in 1999 this unique ancient brewery, tasting cellar and restaurant were taken ober by "Kultur Brauerei Heidelberg AG" and faithfully restored. The fine beers you can taste and enjoy there are brewed in accordance with the German Purity Law of 1516. For further information please have a look at the internet page.
Cost per person: ? 15.00 (incl. VAT) incl. food and drinks.
Registration is necessary, please fill in the registration form.
Meeting point: Directly at Kulturbrauerei Heidelberg, Leyergasse 6, Heidelberg

Such diverse personalities as Goethe, Benjamin Disraeli and Mark Twain have sung the praises of Heidelberg, which still attracts hundreds of thousands visitors every year. The name Heidelberg was first documented in 1196, but its history goes back much further: here the 500,000 year old jaw-bone of ?Homo heidelbergensis?, one of the first traces of ancient man, was found on the city outskirts in 1907. The Romans built a fort here. In 1386 the first German university was founded in Heidelberg. This beautiful city is famous for its many Renaissance buildings in the old quarter, its idyllic setting on the River Neckar surrounded by mountains and dominated by the magnificent castle which dates from the early 13th century. No wonder that Heidelberg has formally applied to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List!
But Heidelberg is also a modern city with flourishing institutions, such as the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, where 1995 Nobel laureates Eric Wieschaus and Christiane N?sslein-Vollhard carried out their fruit-fly research.
In this stimulating environment we will meet and discuss our common interests.
