Macrocyclic chemistry has developed into one of the most active and promising research areas of chemical sciences, based on the interplay of chemistry, physics and biology. This research field comprises manifold fundamental aspects and has an enormous potential for future applications in nano- and biotechnology, electronics and medicine.
Every year since 1977, the International Symposia on Macrocyclic Chemistry (ISMC), established by R.M. Izatt, J.J. Christensen and J.S. Bradshaw, have been exciting places for macrocyclic/supramolecular chemists from all over the world to meet and to discuss their research in a pleasant atmosphere.
In 2005, the ISMC will return to Germany (after Hamburg in 1988) in order to celebrate the 30th meeting in Dresden which will be held from July 17 to 21. Such an anniversary provides an excellent opportunity to discuss the state-of-the-art developments, concepts and applications of macrocyclic chemistry. It is our hope that a very stimulating meeting will result.
The organisers cordially invite you to come to Dresden to join the exciting meeting, present your recent studies and enjoy this beautiful place in Saxony.
