Porous solids and particularly metal-organic frameworks are now strategic materials for their numerous applications which concern current societal problems like energy, sustainable development and health. DECHEMA, Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology and IZA, International Zeolite Association, extend a cordial invitation to the colleagues in the field of metal-organic frameworks and other open framework compounds to participate in the 1st International Conference on these topics, which will be held from October 8 to 10, 2008 in Augsburg/Germany.

This conference aims at covering the state of the art of the topics. All the aspects of the field are concerned, from the new ways of synthesis, new structures, mechanisms of formation, classical properties related to adsorption (gas and liquids) as well as new ones, closer to those of dense phases to catalytic reactions and engineering aspects.
