Invitation
The Young Researchers Network (
Zukunftsforum Biotechnologie
) of the Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, DECHEMA, is pleased to invite you to the
47th Tutzing Symposion (25 - 28 May 2008, Tutzing, Germany)
"Modelling and engineering of complex systems – from molecular assemblies to biological networks"
Concepts from engineering and modelling are currently flourishing in the biosciences. Systems and synthetic biology are bound for great leaps towards the understanding and re-engineering of the functions of living systems. Understanding information transfer is at the heart of all these efforts. Consequently, the organisers compiled a series of outstanding lectures that feature the central role of communication at all levels: molecular, intra- and extracellular, within ecosystems, between disciplines and across cultural borders. Six interdisciplinary plenary sessions will present cutting-edge research on (i) the understanding and modelling of biological systems, (ii) the development of new technologies that enable the analysis and design of complex systems, and (iii) knowledge transfer at the interfaces of biology, technology, and society. The Tutzing Symposion will again provide a unique platform and ample time to exchange ideas between leading scientists and decision makers.
Beautiful Tutzing is located at Lake Starnberg 40 km south of Munich and is only about 30 (60) minutes away by train from Munich central station (airport). See www.ev-akademie-tutzing.de/en/ for further details.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Tutzing.
DECHEMA would like to thank the Young Researchers Network (Zukunftsforum Biotechnologie) for the excellent cooperation in compiling the programme and all speakers for their contributions.
